On Wednesday, May 7, 2025, the Department of Economics within the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS) at AIUB hosted an engaging Freshmen Reception for the Spring 2024-2025 semester at the university's Media Studio, welcoming the newest students in the Economics Department. The event aimed to create a warm and welcoming environment for the incoming freshmen, fostering a sense of community and belonging within the department. It offered an opportunity for new students to meet faculty members, department heads, senior students, and other key figures who will guide them throughout their academic journey. Additionally, the reception introduced freshmen to various departmental resources, clubs, and activities available to them.

The program kicked off with a heartfelt welcome from Dr. Farhana Rafiq, Senior Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics and Mentor of the AIUB Economics Club. Dr. Faria Sultana, Head of the Economics Department, along with esteemed faculty members and departmental heads, were also in attendance to support and connect with the new students.

The reception wrapped up with an entertaining cultural show, organized by the AIUB Economics Club, where students showcased their talents in music, dance, drama, and more.
