Dr. Anwarul Abedin Lecture Series unfolds for the Spring 2009-2010 with Mr. Raihan Shamsi, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer of Grameenphone as the distinguished guest speaker. Mr. Shamsi delivered a lecture on Growth and Innovation: Our Experience. He underscored in his lecture the growth and development of the company in various areas. The growth is considered phenomenal since Grameenphone’s growth was continuous in significant rate and quantity and also improvement in quality services. The company is consistently in top position among the mobile phone companies in the country. He also disclosed some of the strategies and novel approaches to enhance and sustain the growth of the company. After his lecture-presentation, students were given the opportunity to intellectually interact with the speaker. Some of the relevant issues raised were the possibility of giving discount to students and the effect of sound waves to people’s health brought about by the networks or transmitter built in crowded areas. The lecture was attended by the key officials of the university led by the Pro Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Anwar Hossain, the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Tafazzal Hossain, the Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration, Prof. Dr. Charles C. Villanueva, the Director of the Undergraduate, Dr. AKM Matiur Rahman, the Director of Office of Placement and Alumni, Mr. Romee Tareque, the faculty from Faculty of Business Administration, colleagues of the speaker and the BBA students. It was a full house gathering which made the affair successful and truly beneficial to the students. On behalf of the management, the organizers presented  a Certificate of Appreciation and tokens from the university to the speaker in recognition of his invaluable service.
