The Fall Semester 2013-2014 was ushered by holding the Dr. Anwarul Abedin Lecture Series. This is a professional undertaking established by the management in 2006 in honor of the Founder Chairman of AIUB, Dr. Anwarul Abedin. He passed away last year but this lecture series will remain as a venue and platform for prominent personalities who have exemplified themselves in their respective field. Last Tuesday, 17 September 2013, Ms. Dina H. Loomis an Image Consultant and Motivational Speaker and Global Ambassador, Persona Profiling Academy of America from Philippines was featured as the guest speaker. Her topic of discussion was entitled: Reinvent Yourself for Success. The lecture was very interesting and entertaining in terms of the contents and delivery style. The students and faculty found the lecture relevant especially in the present time where personality and character constitute significant factors for career success due to stiff competition in the job market.
Ms. Loomis was formally introduced to the audience by Ms. Farheen Hassan, Head, Department of Management who at the same time emceed the program. Prof. Dr. Charles C. Villanueva, Dean, Faculty of Business Administration delivered the welcome message and presented the Certificate of Appreciation and souvenirs assisted by Mr. Asif Parvez, Deputy Registrar, to Ms. Loomis after her lecture. Mr. Parvez delivered the vote of thanks especially to the speaker and a staff of ACTIVA who facilitated together with Mr. Firoz of ORP in bringing Ms. Loomis to the Lecture Series. The presence of the faculty and their students were also acknowledged with thanks.
