DEVELOPMENT TRANING FOR ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICERS OF AIUB

The first of the series of development trainings took off last Thursday, 6 October 2016 in the university. The administrative officers were divided into three batches with all the officers from Junior Executives to Directors participating. The objective of the training is to build awareness about the work and organizational structure, communication system, policies and programs, human relation, work ethic and moral values. This is the first time that the administrative officers underwent a more comprehensive training to increase their level of understanding and capacities about their work in the university. This was organized as part of the IQAC’s response to the call for building the capacities of the academic and non-academic staff in consonance with the UGC-QAU-HEQEP guidelines for quality assurance in the delivery of academic programs and services. There were three (3) speakers who delivered their respective topics such as: Prof. Dr. Charles C. Villanueva, Pro Vice Chancellor and Director, IQAC, discussed the concepts and practices of Work and Organizational Culture, appropriate communication process; Mr. Farhad Alim, Sr. Executive, HR Dept., expounded on the topic on Becoming a Professional, about the policies and programs and other administrative matters of the university; Mr. Quazi Ahmed, Founder President of Bangladesh Organization for Learning & Development (BOLD), discussed and illustrated the Human Relations, Work Ethic and Moral Values. The proposal to have the Administrative Officers conduct self-evaluation was tried out during the training. They were informed that another evaluation will be conducted by the supervisors on the performance of the employees, and the office will likewise conduct also self-appraisal to determine the efficiency in the delivery of services.

The day-long training program ended with the Vote of Thanks expressed by Prof. M.A. Quaiyum, Registrar and the distribution of the Certificates of Participation by Prof. Dr. Charles C. Villanueva and Prof. Quaiyum.

The two other batches will participate in another dates during this month of October 2016.
