Operations Management undertook a study trip

Visit to observe the production operations in the industry sector is a relevant and enrichment activity of the business education. It is a vital part of the curriculum of the department of Operations Management. On 10th September 2009, the Department of Operations Management undertook a study trip to the Syed Spinning Mill Ltd. at Sirajgonj. Students observed very closely the production planning procedure, inventory system, supply chain, production operation, quality control and assurance, environment control, energy and industrial resources optimization. In addition, they observed the process of transforming of input to higher value added products. The management of the spinning mill briefed the students and actively interacted with the officers who were giving the orientation. It was a good learning experience for the students to see the actual management operations. The department of operations management is giving thanks to the management of the university for providing full support and cooperation for the study tour. The education trip was under the guidance of Mr. Hassan Maksud Chowdhury, Mr. Mohammad Ali and Mr. Syed Mahbubur Rahman.
