The Department of Human Resource Management (HRM) at the American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) organized an engaging Industry Insights session titled "The Evolution of HR: The Future of People, Work and Careers" on Thursday, June 30, 2026.

The session was conducted by Mr. Syed Imtiaz Faruque, Global Head of Organization Effectiveness at British American Tobacco (BAT), who shared invaluable insights into the rapidly evolving landscape of Human Resource Management from both global and local perspectives.

The interactive session provided students with a comprehensive understanding of how the HR profession continues to transform in response to changing organizational needs, technological advancements, and the future of work. Drawing from his extensive industry experience, the speaker skillfully addressed contemporary HR practices while challenging common misconceptions surrounding the HR profession. The discussion closely aligned with the learning outcomes of the HRM curriculum, enabling students to bridge theoretical concepts with real-world organizational practices.

The session was organized and hosted by Ms. Kishwar Mubin Chowdhury, Assistant Professor, Department of Human Resource Management, as part of an ongoing industry-academia collaboration initiative aimed at strengthening students' exposure to contemporary workplace realities.

The event was graced by the presence of Mr. Roomee Tareque Moudud, Director, Office of Placement and Alumni (OPA), and Mr. Soumendra Das, Associate Professor, whose participation further enriched the occasion. Ms. Afrina Azad Omi, Lecturer, Department of Human Resource Management, also collaborated on the initiative by encouraging the participation of students enrolled in her HRM courses, providing them with an excellent opportunity to witness firsthand how classroom concepts are applied and interpreted by senior industry leaders.

The session concluded with an engaging question-and-answer segment, where students actively interacted with the speaker, seeking guidance on emerging HR trends, future career opportunities, and the competencies required to thrive in an increasingly dynamic world of work.
