Commonwealth Association of Architects (CAA) is a membership organization for institutes representing architects in Commonwealth countries. CAA's constitution sets the aim of the organization as 'The advancement of Architecture throughout the COMMONWEALTH, and the acquisition of knowledge of the various arts and sciences connected therewith'.
In continuing effort of upholding this motto, the 20th CAA conference and general assembly was held in Dhaka from 19th to 24thFebruary, 2013. This year’s theme of the conference is ‘Architecture, Response and Responsibility’ which focuses on sharing the experiences, researches as well as skilled and creative approaches through which the Architects could deal with newer challenges. Renowned architects from overseas as well as from Bangladesh made presentations at the Conference.
In CAA 2013 Conference a large group of delegates participated from Department of Architecture, AIUB. The total number of registered participants exceeded fifty from AIUB alone. Students & faculties not only participated in the intriguing sessions but some were also actively engaged in organizing & performing responsibilities of the international conference. The conference provided an exposure to the participants to witness and become aware of contemporary architectural thoughts, issues & practices and to communicate with famous architects and policy makers through exchange of dialogues.
