Delegate from the University of Utah visited AIUB

On April 24, 2024 (Wednesday), Ms. Julie Sieving, Co-Director of the Intermountain Industrial Assessment Center, University of Utah visited the American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB). The purpose of the visit was to explore potential collaborations between AIUB and the University of Utah, particularly in the fields of research, technology and innovation.

Mr. Md Arif Raihan Maahi, (Chief Impact Officer at Devtale Partners and Executive Director of the ESAB Innovation Center) who is also an alumnus of AIUB introduced Ms. Julie Sieving with AIUB and accompanied her during the whole visit. During their visit, the team had the opportunity to visit the laboratories, research facilities, and other amenities. Ms. Julie Sieving was impressed by the state-of-the-art infrastructure and the conducive environment for academic and research pursuits at AIUB. A meeting was arranged to discuss the possibilities of collaboration, which was attended by key representatives from AIUB. The other attendees in the meeting were Prof. Dr. A.B.M. Siddique Hossain (Dean, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB), Prof. Dr. Mohammad Abdul Mannan (Associate Dean, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB), Dr. Md. Saniat Rahman Zishan (Director, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB), Mr. Chowdhury Akram Hossain (Head, Dept. of CoE,, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB), Dr. Md. Ehasanul Haque (Head, Dept. of IPE, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB), Dr. Md. Rifat Hazari (Special Assistant [EEE], Faculty of Engineering, AIUB)  and Mr. Tamim Hossain, (Lecturer, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB).

The visit concluded on a positive note, with both parties looking forward to building a mutually beneficial partnership that will contribute to the advancement of education, research, and innovation. Lastly, honorable Prof. Dr. A.B.M. Siddique Hossain  handed over a token of appreciation to Ms. Julie Sieving. This visit was facilitated by the Engineering Students’ Association of Bangladesh (ESAB) AIUB Unit Face.
