The Department of Management Information Systems (MIS), Faculty of Business Administration, American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB), successfully organized a unique and engaging awareness program titled “Digital Defense: Awareness through Drama” on Thursday, May 07, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Media Studio, Annex 2.
The event featured a series of thought-provoking drama performances by students enrolled in the Cyber Security course under the Department of MIS. Designed as an innovative learning initiative, the program aimed to enhance students’ understanding of cybersecurity concepts while creating awareness about emerging digital threats and safe online practices.
The event was inaugurated by Professor Anwar Hossain, Advisor and Dean In-Charge, Faculty of Business Administration, who delivered the welcome speech. In his remarks, he emphasized the growing importance of cybersecurity awareness in today’s digital world and appreciated the students’ creative approach to communicating critical security issues through performing arts.
As part of their Cyber Security coursework, students spent the semester exploring various cyber threats, their impacts on individuals and organizations, and practical preventive measures. Under the guidance of their course teacher, Ms. Nazia Farhana, Additional Director, AIUB-IQAC, and Associate Professor, Department of MIS, they transformed their learning into three original drama scripts inspired by contemporary cybersecurity challenges. The performance effectively translated technical concepts into engaging real-life scenarios, demonstrating both the consequences of unsafe digital practices and strategies for staying secure online. The event was coordinated and organized with the aim of fostering experiential learning, allowing students to reinforce classroom knowledge through creativity, collaboration, and performance.
The dramas were met with enthusiastic responses from the audience, who appreciated the students’ creativity, teamwork, and ability to transform technical cybersecurity concepts into engaging and relatable performances. The event served as a powerful example of experiential learning, where knowledge was reinforced through active participation, creativity, and collaboration.
Among the distinguished attendees were Mr. Mehzab H. Nahid, Senior Assistant Professor and Head, Department of MIS and Business Analytics; Khandakar Tahurul Islam, Lecturer, Department of MIS, Faculty of Business Administration; and Fatema Tuz Zahra, Lecturer, Department of MIS, who attended the event and encouraged the students for their remarkable efforts.
