CS Fresher’s Day and Freshmen Programming Contest 2010-11 prize giving ceremony

On Thursday evening, the auditorium was full with verdant glow. Enthusiast CS freshmen stated there orientation at different CS programs on June 2, 2011. The event was started with an IT QUIZ. Afterward, a video presentation, journey to the CS department website was presented by Mr. Tanvir Ahmed, Assistant Professor from CS department. Then Mr. Saiedur Rahman provided a thoughtful lecture on “How to be a successful CS graduate”. Mr. Mashiour Rahman, Head, Department of Computer Science also provided a motivational Speech to the fledgling CS fresher.  The dean of Faculty of Science and Information Technology, Professor Dr. Tafazzal Hossain provided an encouraging speech to the audience. It was also a day for the prize giving ceremony of Freshmen Programming Contest 2010-11 which was held on May 9, 2011. Honorable Pro-Vice Chancellor, Dr. Anwar Hossain, inaugurated the contest at 10:30AM on May 9. In this contest, the participants were the students of Programming Language 1 and 2 courses of 2010 and 2011 academic year. The contest was four hours long and the teams had to solve 9 (nine) problems related to logic and mathematics. Eight out of nine problems were solved. A total of 32 teams participated in this event. In this prize giving ceremony, Professor Dr. Tafazzal Hossain, distribute the crest among winners. The program was concluded with a performance by AIUB Performing Arts Club (APAC).
