The American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) recently conducted a courtesy call visit to the Philippine Embassy to formally meet and extend their greetings to the newly appointed Ambassador, her Excellency Ms. Nina P. Cainglet and Vice Consul Judienne S. Capiz. The visit aimed to strengthen diplomatic and academic relations between AIUB and the Philippine diplomatic mission, fostering mutual cooperation in educational and cultural endeavors.
The AIUB delegation, led by our respected Board of Trustees member, Dr. Carmen Z. Lamagna and Fellow Filipino senior university officials, Ms. Dulce L. Mazumder and Ms. Carlin Noelle L. Alcanzare, faculty members, Mr. Eduardo Alcanzare, Mr. Danilo Morgia and Ms. Rani Ellen V. Ramos, was warmly received by the new Philippine Ambassador and the Vice Consul. During the meeting, discussions centered on potential collaborations in higher education, student exchange programs, educational fair and lecture series. AIUB representatives expressed their keen interest in enhancing academic ties with Philippine institutions, emphasizing shared educational goals and opportunities for cross-cultural engagement.
The Ambassador expressed appreciation for AIUB’s visit and highlighted the importance of academic diplomacy in strengthening bilateral relations. She further emphasized the embassy’s commitment to supporting initiatives that promote educational excellence and cultural understanding between Bangladesh and the Philippines.
Both parties agreed on exploring future partnerships, including faculty and student mobility programs, academic conferences, and collaborative research projects. The meeting concluded with a reaffirmation of commitment to continued engagement and cooperation in the field of education and diplomacy.
