The Vice Chancellor of AIUB Dr. Carmen Z Lamagna went to the Residence of Thailand Ambassador on Monday, November 25, 2019 for a courtesy call on H.E. Ms. Arunrung Phothong Humphreys, Ambassador of Thailand to Bangladesh.

They discussed on various opportunities to strengthen the collaboration between AIUB and the Thai Embassy, particularly in the field of internationalization, capacity building and institutional collaboration. Dr. Carmen briefed H.E. Ambassador Phothong regarding previous successful collaborative activities between AIUB and Thai Embassy, and also between AIUB and other Thai universities.

H.E. Ambassador Ms. Arunrung Phothong thanked Dr. Carmen for the visit and expressed her keen interest to further strengthen the relationship. She particularly emphasized on student activities in the area of volunteer activities, exchange programs and higher education opportunities in Thailand.

In response to the invitation of Dr. Carmen, H.E. Ambassador Phothong also expressed her interest to interact more with AIUB students through a lecture session in near future. The Second Secretary of the Thai Embassy and Mr. Manzur H Khan, Director, Office of Student Affairs, AIUB were also present at that time.
