On 9th August, 2017 The Department of Law conducted a study tour to Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court and The War Crime Tribunal. Fifty students with Lutfunnessa Sagor (the co-ordinator of The Department of Law) visited the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court and the War Crime Tribunal. The full team departed from Banani campus at 9:00 a.m.
The CMM Sir held a workshop for fifteen minutes to help the students better understand how the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court works. The team of students witnessed live Case hearing of many varieties. They witnessed fraud, marriage disputes, murder case and weapons case. After the hearing, the students had lunch then they continued the tour to War Crime Tribunal.
Keshab Roy Chowdhury, Deputy registrar of the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) were with the students while they witnessed the evidence gathered to bring judgment to the crimes committed during the war they were biffed about the cross examine of the war criminals. The students had real life experience how the War Crime Tribunal worked so that they can be better prepared to serve the country in the near future as a learned lawyer. It was a successful study tour arranged by the Department of Law of American International University –Bangladesh.
