Dr. Shovan Kumar Kundu, Assistant Professor of Physics, Faculty of Science and Technology (FST), AIUB, has been elected as an executive member of the Bangladesh Physical Society (BPS) for the tenure 2024 - 2025 (2 years). The new executive committee has been elected on 11 May 2024 during the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of BPS followed by the valedictory ceremony of the International Conference on Physics-2024 organized by BPS. Dr. Kundu was a member of the organizing committee of the conference. Dr. Mohammad Shawkat Akbar, Chairman of the Atomic Energy Commission, Dr. Mohammed Nazrul Islam Khan, Chief Scientific Officer of the Atomic Energy Commission and Prof. Dr. Ratan Chandra Gosh, Director of the Bose Centre for Advanced Study and Research in Natural Sciences (University of Dhaka), have been elected as the President, Treasurer and General Secretary (GS) of BPS respectively. Among others, Prof. Dr. Mesbahuddin Ahmed (Ex-President of BPS), Chairman of the Bangladesh Accreditation Council and Prof. Dr. Md. Abu Hashan Bhuiyan, Vice-Chancellor of UITS were also elected as the executive members of BPS. We congratulate Dr. Shovan Kumar Kundu from the AIUB family. Hope he will be an efficient addition to the BPS executive committee.
