Cisco Networking Academy Career Guidance Program 2016

Cisco Networking Academy Career Guidance Program 2016 was held on January 14, 2016 at American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) auditorium. More than 200 cisco networking academy students from different public and private universities attended the program. The program was also Live Cast at a YouTube channel with the technical support of AIUB Media and Mass Communication Department and Aaamra Technologies Ltd. The program focused on helping students understand the functional knowledge, values and attitude, desirable habits and skills they require to cope up with the new trends and evolving requirements of the networking industry. Ms. Kalhari Kaluarachchi, Program Manager-Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Maldives, and Butan, Social Innovation Group, Cisco Systems Inc. kicked-off the program. Welcome addresses was given by Dr. Carmen Z. Lamagna, the honorable Vice-Chancellor of AIUB. In her speech, she emphasized the need and importance of quality technical education to cater the need of the emerging requirements of the industry and to materialize the dream of Digital Bangladesh. Mr. Murugan Vasudevan, Head of South Asia Social Innovation Group, Cisco Systems Inc. gave an overview of Cisco Networking Academy Programs and explained how Cisco networking academy programs are enabling a digital future by developing technical workforce and empowering people’s life throughout the globe. The first session speaker Mr. Wahid Uz Zaman, CCIE, Managing Director of ESL briefed the students about the current trends in the networking industry and explained the technical requisites needed to enter into the market and be successful in the long run. The second session speaker Mr. Anisur Rahman, Head of IIG, Network Operations of Level3 Carrier Limited talked about the Growth of Internet in Bangladesh and showed how this growth created new job opportunities in the local market. Md. Manirul Islam, Director, Continuing Education Center (CEC) & IT (Network Operations) of AIUB talked about Cisco Career Road Map and gave a thank you note to the attendees, the industry partners, and the CEC team who made this program a grand success.
