The sports field of the American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) came alive with vibrant energy and celebration as the grand finale and prize giving ceremony of the AIUB Inter College Football Championship 2026 was held on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at the AIUB Sports Field. Organized by the Office of Sports, AIUB, with the support of the Office of Student Affairs, the tournament commenced on May 18, 2026, bringing together 41 enthusiastic college teams from across the Dhaka Division in a display of competitive spirit, discipline, and sportsmanship.

The final match delivered a thrilling contest between BAF Shaheen College Kurmitola and Dhaka College. After an intense battle, the match ended 1-1 in full time. In the tie-breaker, BAF Shaheen College Kurmitola secured a dramatic 3-2 victory to clinch the championship title for the first time in the tournament’s history, marking a memorable achievement in the fourth season of this prestigious competition. Birshreshtha Noor Mohammad Public College emerged as the Second Runner-up of the tournament, while the Fair Play Award was proudly earned by Engineering University School & College for their outstanding sportsmanship and discipline throughout the championship.

The prize giving ceremony was graced by distinguished guests, including Professor Dr. Saiful Islam, Vice Chancellor of AIUB; Professor Dr. Abdur Rahman, Pro Vice Chancellor; Dr. Ziarat H Khan, Deputy Director, Student Services and Welfare; Mr. Abu Miah Akanda Tuhin, Assistant Director, Public Relations. In his address, the Vice Chancellor expressed heartfelt gratitude to all participating teams for their spirited involvement and praised the students for successfully balancing their academic commitments with their passion for sports.

As the curtain fell on this year’s championship, the AIUB Inter College Football Championship 2026 once again showcased the power of youth, teamwork, and sportsmanship, leaving behind unforgettable memories and setting the stage for an even bigger tournament in the years ahead.
