AIUB Community of Engineering Students (ACES) organized the Final Defense program of EEE and CoE department titled “Celebration of Capstone Project Completion” for the Summer 2018-19 semester. This remarkable program was held in the Multi-purpose hall of Annex-7 of American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB).

A total of 45 groups participated in the final defense program and defended their projects in front of their respective supervisors, externals and other faculty members. After the successful completion of their project defense, a poster competition was also held where the judges assessed and inquired on the concepts of the poster presented by the group members. Later, participants were appreciated with a crest for successfully completing their capstone project. The program commenced with an amazing cultural program. The audience enjoyed the marvelous music and impressive dance performances by the ACES members. There was also an interactive session with the audience where they performed and shared their memories as well as experience in AIUB. Afterwards, Prof. Dr. A. B. M. Siddique Hossain (Dean, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB) gave an inspiring speech to all the students. In his speech he highlighted the importance of developing skills and solving complex engineering problems. Prof. Dr. Md. Abdur Rahman (Associate Dean, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB) in his following speech explained how Outcome based Education (OBE) was introduced to help students relate real life problems to the theoretical ones. He also enlightened the students to keep updating their skills in order to match with the developing world. Succeeding the cultural event, a raffle draw event was held inaugurated by Mr. Tawsif Ibne Alam (Assistant Professor, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB & Special Assistant, Dept. of EEE), Dr. M. Tanseer Ali (Senior Assistant Professor; Special Assistant, Capstone Project, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB),  Mr. Sujan Howlader (Assistant Professor, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB), Mr. Mehedi Hasan (Assistant Professor, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB), Ms. Sumaiya Umme Hani (Assistant Professor, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB; Motivator, ACES), Mr. Kawshik Shikder (Assistant Professor, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB) and Abir Ahmed (Lecturer, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB).

The program ended with the prize giving ceremony for the poster competition where the top-3 groups were provided with the certificate of achievement in the presence of Prof. Dr. Md. Abdur Rahman (Associate Dean, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB), Prof. Dr. Mohammad Abdul Mannan (Director, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB), Mr. Nafiz Ahmed Chisty (Head In-Charge (UG), Department of EEE; Associate Professor, AIUB), and Mr. Md. Saniat Rahman Zishan (Head, Department of CoE; Senior Assistant Professor, AIUB). Finally, Mr. Md. Saniat Rahman Zishan (Head, Department of CoE; Senior Assistant Professor, AIUB), announced names of the three winning group who are nominated for the Vice Chancellor Award in the Summer 2018-19 semester. The astounding program came to an end with a group photo. The entire event was a great success due to the immense support from the project & thesis supervisors and external supervisors of EEE and CoE department of AIUB.
