The choice of career is one of the difficult stages in the life of a student. In AIUB, our students have predetermined the program they are going to take or enroll in. In the case of students in BBA, there are 9 majors which they can choose from. After at least 6 semesters, BBA students can now select their major. It is at this stage that students should be guided in the choice of their major so that they can consider a number of factors for a better choice of major. The Faculty of Business Administration organized a career orientation talk show which will give opportunity to students to interact with the resource persons coming from different professions. Each resource person represents a major who expounded on the opportunities and prospects of a particular major especially in the business sector. The resource persons were individually introduced to the students to let them know of their relevant background. The resource persons emphasized that aside from the major they have chosen, their career success or employment is also attributed by many factors. Competence in the major as shown in their CGPA, the passion and interest in the chosen career or major, the attitude and personality, and open to go places and/or assignments. Students should really consider these factors and not just persist in their closed mind set and influence made by their parents, friends and relatives. The Faculty of Business Administration is hopeful that the inputs learned from the talk show will make our students more rationale and careful in the choice of major for their success in the future. Anyone will choose these majors in BBA? Management, Marketing, Tourism and Hospitality Management, Operations Management, Management Information System, International Business, Human Resource Management, Accounting and Finance, Investment Management. Good Luck ! The Talk Show for BBA Students was ably moderated by Mr. A K Nazmul, Director of Undergraduate Program while for the MBA students was moderated by Mr. RT Moudud, Director for Placement and Alumni. The Pro Vice Chancellor and Dean, Faculty of Business Administration, Prof. Dr. Charles C. Villanueva warmly welcomed the resource persons, students and faculty to the Talk Show with his brief insights on the importance of a career guidance in the educational development process of the students. Dr. Nisar Ahmed, Director MBA/EMBA program assisted the Dean in presenting Certificates of Appreciation and AIUB souvenir items to the resource persons.
