To capitalize on the demographic dividend created by the region’s youthful population, initiatives need to be taken to create opportunities for youth by investing on their ideas and by providing spaces to establish their social enterprises. The Department of Management has developed the culture of organizing business plan exhibition every semester with the selected business ideas generated by the final year student groups of Entrepreneurship Development course from 2011 to encourage the youth to contribute on SDG. The objective of the event is to give a platform to the students where they can share their creative business ideas to the academic experts and the invited corporate guests to get feedback for future improvement and implementation of their ideas. This initiative will help to achieve the SDG Goal 4 which ensures inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all and SDG Goal 8 that promote sustained, inclusive, and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment, and decent work for all. It also improves the analytical and problem-solving skill of the students and makes them socially responsible.

The exhibition was held on a theme of “Sustainable Development and Youth Entrepreneurship”. The discussion session started with the speech of the distinguished guest speaker and an AIUB alumnus Md. Nafees Ur Rahman, Head of Business, Truck Lagbe Ltd. In his speech he shared his experience and motivated the potential student entrepreneurs. A successful young entrepreneur Dr. Quazi Taif Sadat, Founder of Smile Foundation, Cafe Amber, and Amber Food Products also delivered his valuable speech where he shared his journey of being an entrepreneur.

The respected guests along with the faculty members visited the exhibition and evaluated the business plans developed by the students. The presentation skill and nicely crafted posters and models of the projects were highly appreciated by the spectators. The exhibition was only possible because of the spontaneous hard work of the respective teachers and students along with the support provided from AIUB Management.
