On Thursday, July 24, 2025, the Engineering Students’ Association of Bangladesh (ESAB) AIUB Unit Face organized an workshop titled “Build Your Own Wind Turbine: A Workshop with QBlade” at room number DN0210. The event brought together over 30 participants for an engaging and informative session focused on renewable energy and wind turbine design.

The workshop began with opening remarks from Prof. Dr. A.B.M. Siddique Hossain (Dean, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB; Advisor, ESAB AIUB Unit Face). Prof. Dr. A.B.M. Siddique Hossain warmly welcomed the attendees and shared thoughtful insights about wind energy, highlighting the relevance of windmill technology in the context of global sustainability and engineering education.

The workshop was led by Dr. Gour Chand Mozumder (Assistant Professor,Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, AIUB), who guided participants through the design and simulation of wind turbines using QBlade, an open source software. Through his interactive session, students gained practical experience and a clearer understanding of how renewable energy systems work in real world applications.

Following that, the workshop continued with a Q&A session, where attendees engaged directly with Dr. Gour Chand Mozumder, asking thoughtful questions and exploring the deeper aspects of wind turbine technology.

This workshop aligns SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure) by fostering knowledge in renewable energy technologies and encouraging innovation in the engineering field. It provides participants with hands on experience using advanced software tools relevant to sustainable infrastructure. By technical expertise and promoting innovation, the workshop supports the development of resilient and modern industrial systems.

The event concluded with closing remarks from Dr. Md. Saniat Rahman Zishan (Professor and Director, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB; Advisor, ESAB AIUB Unit Face). He expressed appreciation for the speaker’s valuable contribution and praised the active participation of the students. As a token of appreciation, a plaque of gratitude was presented to Dr. Gour Chand Mozumder for leading the workshop and sharing his expertise.tamim sir and debraj  sir  also present in the workshop. The program concluded with a group photograph, capturing the collaborative spirit and shared enthusiasm that defined the day’s learning experience, with e-certificates to be provided to all participants in recognition of their active involvement.
