A distinguished delegation from the Bangladesh Accreditation Council (BAC) visited the American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) on 20 September 2026, marking a meaningful occasion for dialogue, reflection, and collaboration on quality assurance and accreditation in higher education. The program was organized by the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), AIUB.

The program commenced with a warm reception and refreshments, followed by the welcome address by Professor Dr. Saiful Islam, Vice Chancellor, AIUB. Professor Dr. Md. Shah Amran, Member, Bangladesh Accreditation Council (BAC), delivered the address as the Special Guest, followed by the speech of Professor Dr. Md. Akhter Hossain Khan, Chairman, BAC, as the Chief Guest. The program then featured a presentation on a brief introduction to AIUB by Prof. Dr. Manzur H. Khan, Proctor, AIUB, followed by a presentation on the University’s quality assurance and accreditation activities by Prof. Dr. Farheen Hassan, SFHEA, Director, IQAC. The program concluded with reflections from the audience and a vote of thanks delivered by Professor Dr. Md. Abdur Rahman, Pro Vice Chancellor, AIUB.

The visit holds particular significance in the context of BAC’s national mandate to promote quality assurance and accreditation in higher education. BAC emphasizes the importance of academic quality, transparency, accountability, self-assessment, and adherence to established accreditation standards, while encouraging higher education institutions to develop a strong internal culture of quality and continuous improvement.

The engagement at AIUB provided an opportunity to reflect on these shared priorities and reinforce the importance of a sustained institutional culture of quality. Through presentations, discussions, and interactions with the BAC delegation, AIUB highlighted its continuing commitment to systematic quality assurance, evidence-based improvement, continuous quality enhancement, and accreditation-focused academic development.
