Institute of Architects - Bangladesh recently organized a two-day long event "IAB Student Fest 2018" on 2nd and 3rd November at IAB center, Agargaon. It was participated by over 200 students from IAB accredited schools of architecture and 100 students from the non-accredited schools. Department of Architecture, AIUB as an accredited school participated with a team of 20 undergraduate students from 3rd, 4th and 5th level with Chowdhury Farah Zaki, a lecturer as the Team Leader. 
The STUDENT FEST included Design Charrette, Quiz Competition, Cultural Event, Graduation Project Exhibition and Master Classes mentored by prominent architects including Nahas Ahmed Khalil, Mustapha Khalid Palash and Rafiq Azam. The environment was festive as architects, academicians and students from different universities came under one roof to celebrate the first ever event of such kind in Bangladesh. 
The Quiz Team from AIUB positioned themselves as the 2nd Runners up among 11 other universities, beating Khulna University, Stamford University and Ahsan Ullah University of Science and Technology University in the first round, the team members are Laurien Teresa Gomes , Ishaan Mustapha Khan and Sumaiya Fariha. Syeda Motahhara, Milky, a recent AIUB graduate was awarded with an Honorable Mention for her graduation project “Remodeling Krishi Market: Forming Community Square”. 

These awards are recognition of the quality of AIUB architecture students from the Architecture community as a whole. The team is thankful to AIUB for its support. We congratulate the winners and wish them success.
