On October 8^th, 2016, a seminar titled “Are you ready for the software industry?” was held at the AIUB Auditorium. The seminar was moderated by Mr. A. M. Anisul Huq, Faculty member of the Department of Computer Science, FSIT. The main objective of this seminar was to introduce the students with the various aspects and trends of the software industry in Bangladesh. The primary speakers of this seminar were, Mr. Shafiul Hasan and Mr. Shafqat Asif, both veteran software developers. Mr. Shafiul Hasan, who was the country coordinator at Widespace AB. started the seminar with his talk on how to prepare for the software industry. As an experienced developer, he shared his insights with our students. He gave a detailed explanation regarding the skill sets required to become a successful IT professional. The later part of the seminar was preceded by the current country manager of Widespace AB. Mr. Shafqat Asif, who emphasized on the human aspects of becoming a team player. The discussion was enlightened by the presence of our honorable Director Mr. Mashiour Rahman. Some of the esteemed faculty members of the Computer Science department were also present in the seminar to motivate our students. The seminar was interactively participated by the students and through the long Q&A session it is believed that they took some valuable insights from here.
