Architecture Department Hosts Workshop on DAP 2022-2035 and ECPS

The Department of Architecture at American International University - Bangladesh (AIUB) recently organized a stimulating workshop titled "DAP 2022-2035 in Practice: FAR Calculation and ECPS." Held on February 15th, 2024, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., the workshop offered a comprehensive review of crucial urban planning and architectural design principles.

Led by esteemed faculty members Saiful Hasan Tariq, Assistant Professor, and Md. Rashed Hasan, Lecturer, the workshop aimed to elucidate the practical implications of the newly released Detailed Area Plan (DAP) spanning from 2022 to 2035. Attendees gained valuable insights into navigating regulatory frameworks and implementing innovative strategies to enhance urban development outcomes.

The workshop comprised dynamic sessions covering various facets of DAP implementation. Saiful Hasan Tariq captivated participants with an insightful overview of Area FAR and Incentive FAR, delving into the intricacies of FAR calculation rules and their influence on architectural design. Through interactive discussions and real-world examples, participants acquired a deeper understanding of the interplay between FAR and urban development dynamics.

Md. Rashed Hasan provided practical guidance on navigating the regulatory landscape in Rajuk utilizing the Electronic Construction Permitting System (ECPS). Attendees received essential knowledge and tools for streamlining the construction permit process, ensuring regulatory compliance, and reducing project timelines.

The workshop fostered a collaborative learning environment, with active participation from AIUB's Architecture Department faculty members. Through vibrant discussions and knowledge exchange, attendees collectively addressed pertinent challenges and explored innovative solutions in urban planning and design which is essential for academic & professional capacity building.
