APAC at the Khulna University Music Fest

The set stage today is a platform for young musicians to find their voice and share their stories. Their performances are a window into their hearts and minds, offering a glimpse into the future of music, showcasing the vitality and creativity of the next generation. Their passion and energy are infectious, reminding us of the power of music to bring people together and inspire hope.

 

And the American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) has always encouraged and applauded the talented artists of the AIUB Performing Arts Club (APAC), one of the most proactive student organizations at the institution that continues to make an impact and leave their mark with every performance. APAC did just that with their recent participation in “Shomorpon”, the Inter-University Music Fest 2024, Season 5, organized by Kristy, the music club of Khulna University on the 26th of April 2024. This prestigious event celebrates musical talent from universities across Bangladesh, and APAC's invitation is a testament to their growing reputation for captivating performances. Embarking on the journey towards the neighboring city, the members of APAC took the stage in the late evening with mesmerizing performances of their renditions of popular songs by renowned Bangladeshi bands across genres that became crowd-favorites like “Sraboner Megh Gulo” by Different touch, “Purnota” by Warfaze, and the “A Tribute to Bangladeshi Bands” by Minerva.

 

The enthusiastic response from the audience created an electric atmosphere, demanding encores from the performers, further acknowledging the young artistic talent of APAC. The club's exceptional performance was acknowledged by the organizers, who presented them with tokens of appreciation and a bundle of heartfelt praises. The warm hospitality and professional management of Kristy and Khulna University deserves recognition for their noteworthy efforts in arranging such an incredible opportunity for musical talents from around the country. Eleven esteemed institutions of higher learning participated in the festival, namely Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technogoly, Khulna University of Engineering and Technology, Jashore University of Science and Technology, Patuakhali Science and Technology University, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Meritime University, Barisal University, Bangladesh University of Professionals, American International University Bangladesh, Daffodil International University, Northern University of Science and Technology, Sylhet Agricultural University. It exemplifies the unwavering commitment both the organizers and participants have towards the art of music, promoting the local rhythms of Bangladesh. APAC’s participating performance not only showcases their talent, but also represented their alma mater with great pride, returning with the love, support, and respect of fellow musicians from private and public universities alike, drawing inspiration to continue ‘letting their soul play’.
