Annual Anti-Drug Awareness Program 2013
A day long Annual Anti-Drug Awareness Program 2013 with the Slogan “Say No to Drug” was jointly organized by AIUB Social Welfare Club – Shomoy and Dhaka Metropolitan Police (Gulshan Zone) with the assistance of Banani Police Station on Monday, 30th September 2013 at the campuses of the American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB). Antidrug awareness, Rally, Blood Donation, Booth Campaign, Seminar, Documentary, Filmshow and Cultural show were the events among the programs.
The main aim of the event was to create awareness among all the general people against Drug. In this connection a Seminar was arranged where Mr. KhandakerLutful Kabir, Deputy Police Commissioner (Gulshan Zone), DMP was the main Speaker. In his long and elaborated speech he highlighted the bad effect and consequences of using Drug with the earnest request to create environment atmosphere and awareness against drug. The Additional Deputy Police Commissioner, Mrs. Ayesha Siddika, and Dean of the Business Administration, Dr. Charles C. Villanueva also spoke in the occasion. After the Seminar, Dean Dr. Charles C. Villanueva and Director (Public Relations, Legal & Int’l Affairs) Md. Lutfar Rahman of AIUB handed over the Crests to the Guests and Speakers.
A day long Blood Donation Program was also arranged by Police Blood Bank at AIUB.
Besides, a Grand Rally, under the leadership of Police Inspector of Banani Police Station Mr. Bhuiyan Mahboob Hasan moved around the AIUB Campuses with the teachers, students and officials.
The teachers, students, officials from AIUB and Police Administration were present in the occasion along with Police Inspector (Inquiry) Shaikh Md. Nasir Uddin and Mr. Manzur H. KhanDirector (Student Affairs) of AIUB.
