An Industrial tour to Chandpur Combined Cycle power plant arranged by the department of EEE

Chandpur Combined cycle power plant, first of its kind at Bangladesh has been first ever visited by The Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE), American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) at 18^th April, 2014. This plant has a generation capacity of 150MW & almost 13bn taka has initially invested for this project. The tour was organised by Abu Hena Md. Shatil, Lecturer, Faculty of Engineering. Mr Arman Riaz, Lecturer, Faculty of Engineering also accompanied the tour.  13 enthusiastic students from EEE department got the chance to come with. Students passed 4 hours at power plant. The whole tour was conducted by Avijit Curie, Assistant Engineer, Chandpur Combined Cycle Plant. The purpose of that industrial tour was to observe operational mechanism of combined cycle plant with generation machineries like turbine & generator. Students have seen gas turbine, steam turbine, alternator, boiler, air filter, water treatment plant, condenser, power transformer. Operational mechanism also has been described briefly. In the control panel room, Distributed Control System was one of the pivotal parts of the tour. Students eagerly aggregate that information. Prof. Dr. ABM Siddique Hossain, Dean, Faculty of Engineering, Dr. Md. Abdur Rahman, Director, Graduate & Under graduate program & Dr. Md.
