| American International University - Bangladesh (AIUB) has organized the fresh students orientation for the FALL ‘08-’09 semester on September 4 and 6, 2008 at AIUB Auditorium, Campus 1. A total number of around 600 freshmen students, who were qualified in the toughest screening process: written and oral, participated in the orientation program. The students were comprehensively briefed and educated the norms, curriculum structure, administrative and academic rules and culture of AIUB in the program by the office of Student affairs.
Dr. Anwarul Abedin, Honorable Chairman, AIUB was present in the occasion as the Chief Guest and gave his valuable speech to the new students. Dr. Carmen Z. Lamagna, Vice Chancellor, AIUB presided over the orientation programs. Prof. Dr. Anwar Hossain, Pro-vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Tafazzal Hossain, Vice President, Academics, Prof. Dr. A B M Siddique Hossain, Dean, Faculty of Science, Prof. Dr. Charles C Villanueva, Dean Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences and Dean in-charge of Faculty of Business Administration and Dr. Faheem Hasan Shahed, Coordinator, Department of English also spoke on the occasion. Mr. Roomie Tarek Moudud, Coordinator, Office of Placement and Alumni, Mr. A. K. Nazmul, Coordinator, Office of Sports, Mr. Nisar Ahmed, Coordinator, Department of Finance, Mr. Ehsanul Huda, Coordinator, Department of Marketing, Mr. Ziarat Hossain, Coordinator, Office of Research and Publication and Mr. Manzur H Khan, Coordinator, Office of Student Affairs conducted the briefing session on behalf of Student Affairs. Besides the Faculty members and University officials a large number of guardians of the students also attended the orientation program.
