American International University–Bangladesh (AIUB) has achieved a historic milestone in the country’s higher education sector as its Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) Program has been officially accredited by the Bangladesh Accreditation Council (BAC). Notably, AIUB distinguished itself as the 1st university in Bangladesh to submit the “Self-Assessment Report” for the EEE Program to the BAC on 21 May 2024 and to facilitate the council's inaugural 1st “Academic Audit Visit” from 21-23 January 2025. This recognition marks the first time any academic program in Bangladesh has received accreditation from BAC, the National Accreditation authority.
The accreditation has been awarded following a rigorous evaluation process conducted by the Bangladesh Accreditation Council. The process included a comprehensive self-assessment, external peer review, and on-site evaluation to ensure compliance with nationally and internationally accepted quality standards.
The certification signifies that AIUB’s EEE program meets the required benchmarks in curriculum design, teaching–learning processes, assessment methods, faculty competence, infrastructure, governance, and continuous quality improvement mechanisms. This achievement reflects AIUB’s long-standing commitment to maintaining academic excellence and outcome-based education.
The accreditation will enhance the national and international recognition of the EEE degree offered by AIUB, benefiting current students, graduates, and stakeholders. BAC accreditation is increasingly considered a key indicator of quality assurance for higher education institutions and programs, both within Bangladesh and abroad.
This milestone further strengthens AIUB’s position as a leading private university in Bangladesh, particularly in engineering and technology education, and underscores its role in advancing quality assurance practices in the nation’s higher education system.
