Like every year, the Office of Student Affairs (OSA), AIUB arranged a daylong celebration to welcome the Bengali New Year 1424 on 14th April 2017 at the Banani Club Field. Honorable Vice Chancellor, Dr. Carmen Z Lamagna accompanied by Ms. Nadia Anwar, Founder and Vice President, Student Affairs started the colorful Boishkahi rally from Building 7. AIUB Officials, Faculty Members and Students joined the rally in numbers. Students of Architecture Department prepared various props, masks, characters resembling the traditional Bengali culture. Later Dr. Carmen Z Lamagna and Ms. Nadia Anwar inaugurated the AIUB Boishakhi Ullash 1424 at the Banani Club field. The Treasurer and Founder Vice President (HRD) Dr. Hasanul A. Hasan was also present on the occasion. Deans of the Faculties, teachers, students, officials of AIUB and foreign delegates enjoyed the celebration.

AIUB Students put up stalls decorating with various local traditional items and foods. The Boishakhi mela was open for all quarters of people. Highlight of the occasion was performances by country’s famous bands - LRB, Souls and Dolchut. The AIUB Performing Arts Club (APAC) staged their performances in the first part of the program. Renowned singer of the country, and an AIUB student, Minar performed in the first half of the program along with his band.

Every year AIUB Boishaklhi Ullash is organized for students, faculty members, officials of AIUB and the local neighborhood to celebrate the Bengali New Year in a colorful and befitting manner with the wholehearted support of AIUB Management.
