AIUB wins 1st and 2nd positions in NEPEC 2009

American International University –Bangladesh (AIUB) participated in the “National Electronic Project Exhibition and Competition (NEPEC) 2009” organized by the East West University, held on Wednesday, August 5, 2009. Mr. Rajiuddin Ahmed Raju, Honorable Minister, Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh was the chief guest in this event and handed over the 1st prize to Mr. Saleh Uddin Ahmed, Mr. Sakib Nizam and Mr. Abdullah Sheikh Shaugat students of AIUB CS department and 2nd prize to Mr. Jayanta Paul and Md. Mohsin Ali students of AIUB EEE department. Team from AIUB CS department exhibited “Robot IONA” with the functionality of Obstacles detection, Find desired object, Bring it to base and Interact with human through voice reply. AIUB EEE department team exhibited “Electronics intelligence at your service”- which will take order from customer like a waiter. In this event a total number of 22 projects were selected for Exhibition and Competition from 11 universities, i.e. American International University -Bangladesh, Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology, East West University, North South University, Independent University, United International University, etc. Dr. Carmen Zita Lamagna, Honorable Vice Chancellor, AIUB and Professor Dr. A.B.M Siddique Hossain, Dean, Faculty of Science & Information Technology congratulated both teams of AIUB and their supervisors Mr. Md. Farhad Ahmed and Mr. Salahuddin Raju for their performance.
