A team of exceptional students from the American International University–Bangladesh has brought great honor to the institution by winning the Best Paper Award at the 7th International Conference on Integrated Sciences (ICIS) 2025, held on 25–26 October 2025 at Eastern University, Dhaka, Bangladesh.
The award-winning team — Khadiza Tul Nur Aiman, Fariha Farhad, Mahmudur Rahman Mitul, Fahid Hasan, and Md. Mortuza Ahmmed — earned the distinction for their research paper titled “AI-Based Sustainable Agribusiness Models: Bridging Farmers and Global Markets.” Their paper was selected as the Best Paper among 200 accepted papers from universities and research institutions worldwide. The study introduces an innovative framework leveraging Artificial Intelligence to promote sustainable agribusiness models, empowering local farmers and connecting them to global markets through data-driven solutions.
The 7th ICIS 2025 was a hybrid international conference, jointly organized by the International Open University (IOU), The Gambia (https://iou.edu.gm/) and Eastern University, Bangladesh (https://www.easternuni.edu.bd/). The central theme of the conference was “Integrating Artificial Intelligence in Science, Business, and Islamic Paradigms.”
This prestigious event brought together scholars, researchers, and professionals from around the world to exchange insights and innovations in Pure and Applied Sciences, Islamic Science, and Social Sciences. Under the leadership of Professor Dr. Muhammad Ahsan, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics) of Eastern University and Chair of the Conference, ICIS 2025 emphasized the transformative role of AI in advancing sustainable development and integrated scientific research.
Under the supervision of Md. Mortuza Ahmmed, Associate Professor, Department of Mathematics, 28 presenters from AIUB presented their papers in ICIS 2025, showcasing the university’s growing engagement in international research and academic collaboration.
