In the recently concluded 13th South Asian (SA) Games 2019 in Nepal, 4 AIUB students, Mr. Afif Hossain, Ms. Ardina Ferdous, Ms. Umme Zakia Sultana Tumpa and Mr. Shovon Chowdhury won medals for Bangladesh.

Afif won Gold medal as a team member of Bangladesh Cricket Team in the Men’s Cricket category. While Ms. Tumpa won two Silver medals in the 50 meter Women's Team Rifle category and in the 10 meter Women's Team Air Rifle category.

Another student Ms. Ardina Ferdous, who recently completed BBA from AIUB, won silver medal for Bangladesh in the 10 meter Women's Air Pistol category. Also, Mr. Shovon Chowdhury won Silver medal for Bangladesh in the Men's Team shooting (50 meter 3 positions) category.

It is important to mention that both Shovon and Tumpa are studying in the MBA program under the full sports scholarship as part of the AIUB-Bangladesh Shooting Sport Federation MOU program and Ardina also completed her BBA in full sports scholarship under the same MOU program. On the other hand, national cricketer Afif is studying in the BBA program under the full sports scholarship as part of the AIUB-Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) MOU program.
