AIUB STUDENTS AT THE BANGABANDHU 9TH BANGLADESH GAMES 2020

Showcasing their talents, amongst over 5000 athletes from across the country, competing in 31 categories, students of the American International University – Bangladesh (AIUB), have made their mark in the largest domestic multi-sports tournament in Bangladesh – the Bangabandhu 9th Bangladesh Games 2020! Students of AIUB have acquired 9 medals in various competitive areas of the tournament with their outstanding performances.

Ranging from air rifle to judo, several AIUB students have made triumphant achievements in the tournament. Mst. Mehenaz Sharmin Mim, from the Faculty of Arts & Social Sciences (FASS), won the Gold Medal in the 10 Meter Air Rifle (Women Junior) category. From the Faculty of Business Administration (FBA), 4 students acquired noteworthy positions in the games. Ms. Adrina Ferdous won the Gold Medal in the 25 Meter Sports Pistol (Women) as well as the Bronze Medal in the 10 Meter Air Pistol (Women) categories. Mr. Md. Robiul Islam and Mr. Md. Tamjid Bin Alam won the Silver Medal in the 50 Meter Rifle (Men 3 Position) and the 10 Meter Air Rifle (Men Junior) events respectively, while Mr. Shovon Chowdhury won the Bronze Medal in the 50 Meter Rifle (Men 3 Position) category. Students of the Faculty of Science & Technology (FST), Mr. Arnab Sharar won the Gold Medal in the 10 Meter Air Rifle (Men Junior), while Mr. Asibur Rahman and Faisal Ahmed Afridi won the Bronze Medals in Rugby and Judo-Karate respectively.

AIUB takes great pride in the incredible efforts and accomplishments of all the student athletes, joyous at their victory and hopeful for their continued success in the sports arena of Bangladesh and beyond!
