The AIUB Social Welfare Club – Shomoy successfully organized one of its flagship humanitarian initiatives, “Oder Eid, Amader Khushi 2025,” on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at Kathpencil Pathshala, Tejgaon, Dhaka. The initiative aimed to spread the joy and blessings of Eid-ul-Fitr among children and families from underprivileged communities.

The program was preceded by a vibrant week-long booth campaign across the campus of American International University-Bangladesh, where students, faculty members, and administrative personnel enthusiastically participated in the contribution drive. Their generous support and heartfelt encouragement turned the campaign into a collective celebration of compassion, unity, and social responsibility.

As Eid approached, dedicated members of the club volunteered to prepare gift packages containing essential food items. These thoughtfully arranged packages were intended to help disadvantaged families celebrate the festive occasion with dignity, warmth, and happiness.

Through the generous contributions of the AIUB community, the initiative successfully reached the families of approximately 120 children enrolled at Kathpencil Pathshala—an educational institution committed to supporting children from marginalized communities and a place where Shomoy club members regularly engage in volunteer activities.

Adding great significance to the occasion, Prof. Dr. Manzur H. Khan, Proctor of AIUB; and Stanley Rodrick, Associate Professor, Department of Marketing and Special Assistant, Office of Student Affairs, joined the club mentor Hamidul Islam [Hamid], Associate Professor, Department of Marketing and Special Assistant, Office of Student Affairs, in personally distributing the Eid gift packages among the students of Kathpencil Pathshala.

The event was filled with heartfelt moments as the children welcomed the volunteers with bright smiles and excitement. Celebrating Eid together created a beautiful atmosphere of warmth, gratitude, and shared happiness that deeply touched both the beneficiaries and the volunteers.

More than simply distributing aid, the initiative nurtured empathy, solidarity, and a spirit of service among the participants. Through “Oder Eid, Amader Khushi,” the AIUB Social Welfare Club – Shomoy under the facilitation of the Office of Student Affairs (OSA), AIUB continues to uphold its commitment to humanitarian values while inspiring the AIUB community to stand beside those in need and make meaningful contributions to society.
