On 29 September 2026, the British Council organized the British Council Alumni and Grantee Showcase at the Crystal Ballroom of InterContinental Dhaka during the visit of its Chief Executive, Mr. Scott McDonald. The event brought together British Council alumni, grantees, partner institutions, stakeholders, and distinguished guests to highlight the impact of British Council-supported initiatives and partnerships. Prof. Dr. Saiful Islam, Vice Chancellor, AIUB, graced the event with his presence.

The American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) participated in the showcase to present its British Council-funded Transnational Education (TNE) project, “Developing an International Professional Certification Program for Digital Manufacturing at AIUB,” implemented in collaboration with Birmingham City University (BCU), UK.

The project was presented by Prof. Dr. Md. Saniat Rahman Zishan, Director, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB, and Mr. Mahamudul Hassan, Assistant Professor, Department of Industrial and Production Engineering (IPE), AIUB. During the presentation, the team highlighted the project’s objectives, major activities, progress, achievements, and impact, outlining its journey from the establishment of the international partnership to the successful graduation of the first cohort. The presentation also emphasized the academic and institutional benefits generated through the collaboration. Mr. Abir Ahmed, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Computer Engineering (CoE), AIUB also attended the event.

The showcase was followed by a networking reception with invited guests and stakeholders. The event provided AIUB with a valuable platform to showcase its achievements in Transnational Education, further strengthen its partnership with the British Council, and explore new opportunities for future academic, professional, and institutional collaboration.
