On Sunday, 24 May 2026, the AIUB Social Welfare Club–Shomoy, with the valued support of the Office of Student Affairs (OSA), AIUB, organized a heartwarming outreach program entitled “Rongin Shomoy 2026” at Kathpencil Pathshala, Tejgaon, Dhaka—a non-profit institution devoted to nurturing the dreams, education, and well-being of underprivileged children.
“Rongin Shomoy” marks an amazing new initiative of Shomoy, reflecting the club’s enduring commitment to spreading compassion, upholding dignity, and creating meaningful opportunities for underprivileged children and communities in need. A total of 85 children and volunteers from Kathpencil Pathshala participated in this colorful celebration of joy, creativity, and togetherness. The children received drawing books & papers, color pencil sets, and special Eid dresses for their parents, turning simple gifts into precious moments of love and happiness.
The event was graciously inaugured by Professor Dr. Manzur H. Khan, Proctor, AIUB, whose inspiring presence, thoughtful words, and strong commitment to social responsibility brought a profound sense of purpose and encouragement to the occasion. The program was further enriched by the presence of the club’s mentor, Mr. Hamidul Islam Hamid, Associate Professor, Dept. of Marketing, and Special Assistant, Office of Student Affairs (OSA), AIUB; Mr. Md. Sarowar Hossain, Graphic Designer, Office of Strategic Communication, AIUB; along with the dedicated Executive Committee (EC) members and general members of AIUB Social Welfare Club–Shomoy. Their collective enthusiasm and sincere efforts played a significant role in making the event a memorable celebration of compassion, creativity, and humanity.
The AIUB Shomoy Club expresses its deepest gratitude to Ms. Nadia Anwar, Founder Member and Honorable Chairman, Board of Trustees, AIUB, for her unwavering support, inspiring encouragement, and heartfelt commitment to empowering the club’s humanitarian initiatives, which continue to touch and transform lives.

The Club also extends its heartfelt appreciation to everyone whose generosity, dedication, and support helped make “Rongin Shomoy 2026” a truly memorable experience for these wonderful children.
