AIUB shines as Runner-Up in the Ispahani Prothom Alo Inter University Football Tournament

The American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) showcased outstanding skill and determination in the Ispahani Prothom Alo Inter University Football Tournament 2024, finishing as the runner-up. In a nail-biting final against Daffodil International University (DIU), AIUB put up a valiant fight but narrowly lost 2-1 in a fiercely competitive match.

AIUB's journey to the final was a testament to their exceptional dominance and consistency throughout the tournament. They began their campaign with an emphatic 9-0 victory over Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST) in the first round, followed by an even more commanding 11-0 win against United International University (UIU) in the second round.

The quarterfinal posed a tougher challenge, but AIUB emerged victorious with a closely fought 2-1 victory over BGC University. The semi-final saw them secure their place in the final with a hard-fought 1-0 win against Rajshahi University, showcasing remarkable resilience and tactical brilliance.

The final match witnessed enthusiastic support from Professor Dr. Manzur H. Khan, Proctor, Dr. Ziarat H. Khan, Deputy Director of Student Affairs, Md. Joynal Abedin, Coordinator of the Office of Sports, along with other university officials and students who gathered to cheer for the team.

Following the conclusion of the tournament, the AIUB team proudly handed over the runner-up trophy to Ms. Nadia Anwar, Chairman and Founder Member of the Board of Trustees, AIUB. She congratulated the team on their exceptional performance, applauding their dedication, teamwork, and unwavering resilience throughout the tournament.
