A group of undergraduate engineering and science students from American International University – Bangladesh (AIUB) has been selected to represent Bangladesh at the International Rover Competition (http://urc.marssociety.org/) from June 2 - 4, 2016 organized by the Mars Society, USA. The competition is hosted at Mars Desert Research Station (MDRS), Utah, USA and initially had 63 universities applying from all over the world (12 countries). AIUB is honored to be among the final 30 teams who have been invited for the semifinal round.  AIUB along with other two universities will represent Bangladesh in this prestigious world-class competition among the top universities of the world. 

The team “AIUB Robotic Crew (ARC)” proudly named their Rover “ARC-71” and they all worked very hard for over a year on this project. There are 17 members in the team “AIUB Robotic Crew (ARC)” as following:

In this regard, a special Press Conference was held on 28^th April 2016 at AIUB Auditorium at 11:00 AM. The program was inaugurated by Dr. A B M Siddique Hossain, Dean, Faculty of Engineering. Director (Engineering) Dr. Abdur Rahman and Asst Professor Mr. Ebad Jahir highlighted on the overall summary of the rover competition to be held in Utah, USA on June 2-4, 2016. The Vote of thanks delivered by Mr. Md. Lutfar Rahman, Director (Public Relations) with special mention of the Rancon Groups and First Security Islami Bank Limited for their sponsorships. A Question and Answer session was also held with the participant of Media personnel. Faculty Members, Directors, High Officials of the concerned organizations, Students and representatives of the Print and Electronic Media were also presents at the press conference.

For over a year, the team has built this rover in the AIUB premise with the blessings and direct support of AIUB management especially Mr. Ishtiaque Abedin, Chairman, AIUB Board of Trustee and Dr. Hasanul A Hasan, Founder & Treasurer, AIUB.
