On 21^st July 2016, the American Embassy of Bangladesh invited the three universities from Bangladesh who had participated at the 2016 University Rover Challenge in the USA. The rovers of American International University-Bangladesh, Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology, and Islamic University of Technology were invited to be showcased at the American Embassy. ARC-71, the rover from AIUB, was there along with nine students of the 17 member team.

Honorable U.S. Ambassador to Bangladesh, Ms. Marcia Stephens Bloom Bernicat, was present at the occasion and had several interactions with the students. She was very interested about their design and also their journey to the US. She praised the work that the students had done and encouraged them to go further in their future career. She mentioned looking forward to next year’s designs.

The event was organized by the Engineering Students Association of Bangladesh (ESAB). The General Secretary of ESAB, Md. Arif Raihan Maahi, also announced the signing of a MoU between ESAB and Mars Society. He requested the current three teams to come forward and initiate the Bangladeshi Chapter with ESAB.
