AIUB Robotic Crew (ARC) Team PERCEPTRON left Bangladesh on January 14, 2024, to take part in the National Havoc Robot League (NHRL) competition as a pioneer team from Bangladesh with many other combat robot teams around the world held in Norwalk, Connecticut, USA. The competition challenges teams from all over the world to design a robot which can be controlled safely with innovative weapons. AIUB Robotic Crew (ARC) Team PERCEPTRON is the first team from Bangladesh to compete at National Havoc Robot League (NHRL) in the 30lb. category. It signified the pioneering entry of a team from Bangladesh into the competitive reign of International Combat Robotics competitions.

This year ARC PERCEPTRON team consists of 5 students from Electrical & Electronic Engineering and Computer Science department of AIUB. After fulfilling all the requirements this year, the team ARC PERCEPTRON got invited to NHRL to participate in this competition. For designing the robot, the main concern is maintaining the safety, weight, and follow all the rules & regulations. In this round, under 30 lb. category, only16 teams from different countries have been selected, out of which AIUB was represented with 2 bots to compete at the NHRL January 2024 event.

Mr. Chowdhury Akram Hossain, Associate Professor & Head, Department of Computer Engineering (CoE) & Special Assistant of OSA has accompanied the team as advisor. AIUB is really honored and proud to be a part of the competition for the very first time from Bangladesh. Student members of the AIUB Robotic Crew (ARC) Team PERCEPTRON are Khaliduzzaman Mredul (Team Captain), Md Mominul Islam (Vice-Captain), Jagannath Bhowmik, Mejbahul Islam Jim and Rameen Mehraan.
