A group of faculty members and students from the American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) made significant contributions through outstanding research and received notable accolades at the International Conference on Physics 2026, organized by the Bangladesh Physical Society, held at University of Dhaka.

AIUB researchers secured three Best Poster Awards among approximately 260 participants in the following conference, highlighting the institution’s growing prominence in scientific research. Notably, Dr. Md. Sarowar Hossain and his research team, comprising Tusar Saha and Dr. Md. Mozahar Ali, achieved two Best Poster Awards for their innovative work. In addition, Lincoln Podder, a student from the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, received a Best Poster Award for research conducted under the supervision of Dr. Md. Sarowar Hossain (Project ID: AIUB-FST-25-03-01).

A strong delegation from the Department of Natural Science (Physics) at American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) actively participated in the conference, including Dr. Shovan Kumar Kundu, Dr. Mahjabin Taskin, Dr. Md. Mozahar Ali, Dr. Md. Sarowar Hossain, Dr. Jyotish Chandra Debnath, and Tusar Saha. Their contributions covered a wide range of emerging areas in physics. Notably, Dr. Md. Mozahar Ali, Associate Professor, FST delivered an oral presentation, further emphasizing AIUB’s strong and active engagement in the conference’s research sessions.

Moreover, Dr. Humayra Ferdous, Associate Professor, Department of Natural Science (Physics) was honored as an invited speaker in the Physics Education session, reflecting her expertise and recognition in the academic community. Meanwhile, Dr. Md. Sarowar Hossain served as Co-Chair of the Medical and Health Physics-I session, and Dr. Shovan Kumar Kundu acted as Co-Chair of the Nanomaterials I session, demonstrating AIUB’s leadership in key research domains.

Furthermore, AIUB students, under the supervision of Tusar Saha, Dr. Md. Sarowar Hossain, Dr. Mahjabin Taskin, and Dr. Shovan Kumar Kundu, also presented several research works showcasing the university’s commitment to nurturing young researchers. Moreover, students of AIUB supervised by Md. Mortuza Ahmmed, Associate Professor from the Department of Mathematics, contributed significantly with multiple research presentations.

Beyond academic presentations, several AIUB students also served as volunteers during the conference, playing an important role in the successful organization and management of the event. Furthermore, Dr. Shovan Kumar Kundu contributed to the conference not only as a researcher and session co-chair but also as a member of the organizing committee, reflecting his active involvement in coordinating the program.
