AIUB Professor Tops National Computer Science Research Productivity in 2025

The American International University–Bangladesh (AIUB) has marked a major milestone in national research excellence as Prof. Dr. Muhammad Firoz Mridha, Head Department of Computer Science, Faculty of Science and Technology (FST), and Member of the Research & Publication Steering Committee (former) has been recognized as the most productive Computer Science researcher in Bangladesh in 2025, based on Scopus-indexed publications.

According to Scopus data collected on January 4, 2026, Bangladeshi researchers collectively produced 18,613 scientific publications in 2025, spanning peer-reviewed journals, international conference proceedings, and scholarly book series. Among all research domains, Engineering, Computer Science, and Medicine emerged as the top three most active fields nationwide, reflecting the country’s growing emphasis on technology-driven and applied research.

Within this highly competitive research landscape, Prof. Dr. Mridha authored an exceptional 96 Scopus-indexed research papers in 2025 alone, securing the number one national position in Computer Science by publication count. This remarkable output places him among the top three most productive researchers in Bangladesh across all disciplines.

At the institutional level, the University of Dhaka, Daffodil International University, and Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology ranked as the top three universities in overall research productivity. Notably, American International University–Bangladesh secured the 4th position among all private universities, highlighting its steady rise as a leading research-driven private institution in the country.

Prof. Dr. Mridha’s achievement not only reflects his personal academic excellence and sustained research leadership but also underscores AIUB’s strong commitment to high-impact research, global academic visibility, and innovation in Computer Science and allied disciplines.
