A Moot Team from the American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) proudly participated in the 1st Justice Hidayatullah International Moot Court Competition, 2024, held from March 14-18, 2024. This was the very first edition of this moot court competition which took place at Hidayatullah National Law University (HNLU), Raipur, Chattisgarh, India. Prof. Vivekanandan, Vice Chancellor of HNLU, remarked, “The inaugural edition of HIMCC is the beginning of the internationalization of moots in India and it is all set to become global in the coming years.”

The inaugural edition of the Justice Hidayatullah International Moot Court Competition 2024 (HIMCC) had a record 40 teams, including three international teams. The AIUB Moot Team consisted of two students from the Department of Law namely, Tasnuva Tabassum Eshara and Shehrin Kamal. The team was coached and trained by Mr. Ahasan Habib, Lecturer in Law and Special Assistant of the Office of Students Affairs (OSA). Moreover, Mr. Habib was also invited as an adjudicator to this competition where he successfully played his role.

The event hosted 120 participants from 40 teams and 80 judges drawn from academia, the bar, and the bench. They were hosted to stay on the campus with hectic schedules of rounds conducted seamlessly. The final rounds had an eminent jurist list including Prof. (Dr.) Ranbir Singh, Pro-Chancellor of IILM & Distinguished Jurist Professor of HNLU; Shri Prafull Bharat, Advocate General of Chhattisgarh; Mr. Bharat V. Budholiya, Partner at AZB & Partners; Dr. Uday Shankar, Associate Professor, IIT Kharagpur; and Mr. Muralidharan R., Patent & Trademark Attorney, Manu Associates, who also graced the valedictory ceremony as Guests of Honour.
