The AIUB Moot Court Club (AMCC) successfully hosted its inaugural new member orientation program on December 17, 2023, at the Media Studio in Annex-2 building, with the participation of around 60 AMCC members.
The program commenced with the distribution of welcome kits to the new AMCC members, fostering an atmosphere of warm inclusion. Subsequently, Mr. Ahasan Habib, the Faculty Adviser of AMCC, a Lecturer in Law, and Special Assistant of the Office of Student Affairs [OSA], extended a cordial welcome to the new members. He took a moment to commend the students for their outstanding efforts, setting a positive tone for the program.
Dr. Tazul Islam, Professor and Dean, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, then expressed his sincere gratitude to the new members. His remarks included a reflection on his experiences with the Law Department and appreciation for the students’ valuable contributions, elevating the sense of significance associated with the event.
The program's focal point arrived with the announcement of the AMCC Executive Committee 2023-24 by Dr. S. A. M. Manzur H. Khan, the honorable Proctor, and Director of the Office of Student Affairs [OSA] of AIUB. Dr. Khan's gracious presence added an extra layer of distinction to the occasion as he declared the first executive committee members and outlined their important roles.
In a gesture of appreciation, Dr. Syeda Afroza Zerin, the Department Head, and Associate Professor of the Department of Law awarded a special token of recognition to the Faculty Adviser, Mr. Ahasan Habib, and all AMCC members. Dr. Zerin, in her closing remarks, warmly welcomed the new members, congratulated the incoming committee, and highlighted the manifold benefits of AMCC membership. The event concluded with a group photo session featuring all Executive Members and participants, followed by a short yet engaging cultural program organized by AMCC members.
