NTV defeated Somoy TV in the final round of the AIUB Media Debate, 2015 organized by the AIUB Oratory Club (AOC) with the support of Media and Mass Communication (MMC) Department of AIUB. The competition was held on the 2^nd December at the Media Studio of MMC Department of the university. Honorable Information Minister Mr. Hasanul Haq Inu was present in the final round of the debate and distributed crests among the winners and other participants.

Among others Advisor of the MMC Department Professor Dr AJM Shafiul Alam Bhuiyan spoke on the occasion. Pro- Vice Chancellor of AIUB and Dean, Faculty of Business Administration, Professor Dr Charles Villanueva gave the vote of thanks.

Dr. Tazul Islam, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Social Science, Mr. Lutfar Rahman, Director of Public Relations and Mr. Manzur H Khan, Director of Student Affairs were also present along with other officials, students of MMC and members of AOC. Country’s prominent debaters and organizers like Mr. Al Mamun, Ms. Meher Nigar and many others were present at the event.

Debaters from six leading media houses contested in the parliamentary format of the debate held on 20 November, 2015 at the Department of Media and Mass Communication of AIUB. Most of the participants are former debaters now working as reporters or anchors in the electronic media.

Teams from Jamuna Television, Channel 24, Channel 9 and Radio Dhoni were the other participants of the competition. In the semi-final NTV defeated Jamuna TV while Somoy defeated Channel 9.

The function was followed by a cultural show performed by the students and members of the AIUB Performing Arts Club (APAC).
