AIUB Marketing Students’ Visit to Coca-Cola IBPL

Department of Marketing, Faculty of Business Administration, AIUB organized a study visit to Coca-Cola International Beverages Private Limited (IBPL) on November 8, 2018, as a part of the regular student development program. Students from different marketing major courses along with their faculty members went to that visit to get some practical insights about the plant operations, warehousing, sales & distribution processes of the organization.
IBPL, Bangladesh is a business concern from the global beverage giant, The Coca-Cola Company and it is one of the country’s largest beverage manufacturers and marketer of the popular brands like Coca-Cola, Sprite, Fanta, Maaza, and Kinley etc.
Upon arrival at the IBPL premises, Mr. Nahidul Haque, Officer, Sustainability, greeted the students and the faculty members. The visitors were accompanied to a brief session about company history, brands & product line information, plant safety issues, warehousing, and the supply chain functions. After the session, the students visited different Carbonated Soft Drinks (CSD) production lines under the guidance of Mr. Muhammad Mehedi Hasan, Asst. Manager, Maintenance (an Alumna of FE, AIUB). Mr. Mehedi then explained the total production processes, starting from water treatment to distribution of products to the visiting team.  
After the completion of the visit, the plant officials organized an open round of questions and answers for the students. The students participated with great enthusiasm and learning aptitude in knowing the different functions of the plant operations.  Mr. Kazi Mohammad Arif Moin Uddin, Senior Manager, Human Resources, addressed the students’ queries and responded in details. At the end of that round, faculty members expressed their vote of appreciation to the IBPL officials and presented gift packs, respectively, on behalf of AIUB.
Mr. Hamidul Islam, Asst. Professor, Mr. Stanley Rodrick, Sr. Asst, Professor, Ms. Yesmin Sultana, Asst. Professor, and Ms. Sabrina Rahman, Asst. Professor from the Department of Marketing took the initiatives in organizing the trip under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Charles C. Vilanueva, VP, Academics & Dean, FBA, and Ms. Farheen Hassan, Associate Professor & Director, BBA program. The Department of Marketing would like express their kind gratitude to Mr. Sharif Shajib Ahammed, Asst. Manager, Taxation (an Alumna of FBA, AIUB), for his consistent support and cooperation in organizing this visit successfully.
