The American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB), through its Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), hosted an insightful workshop on the standards and criteria of accreditation under the Bangladesh Accreditation Council (BAC). The event was held on March 6, 2025, at the Multipurpose Hall, D Building (Level 10).

The session featured Dr. Sanjoy Kumar Adhikary, as the distinguished resource speaker. He is considered one of the pioneers in quality assurance in Bangladesh, and held several prestigious positions over the years, like Member, Quality assurance Unit (QAU), University Grants Commission of Bangladesh (UGC); Member, Bangladesh Accreditation Council (BAC); Vice Chancellor, Noakhali Science and Technology University. 

The event began with a warm welcome and introduction by Professor Dr. Farheen Hassan, SFHEA, Director, AIUB-IQAC, who highlighted the significance of accreditation in driving academic excellence and institutional development.

Dr. Sanjoy Kumar Adhikary conducted a comprehensive presentation, elaborating on the standards and criteria of BAC accreditation and how institutions can align with them effectively. The central focus of the workshop was the development of the Self-Assessment Report (SAR), a critical component of the accreditation process. Dr. Adhikary provided detailed guidelines on how to write each section of the SAR, emphasizing the importance of honest reflection, data-driven analysis, and stakeholder engagement.

He also introduced the survey tools associated with the accreditation process and explained their purpose, structure, and the importance of selecting appropriate target respondents such as students, faculty, alumni, employers, and administrative staff.

The event was highly interactive and well received, with enthusiastic participation from the attendees. It was attended by Directors, Heads of Departments, and Self-Assessment Report Preparation Committee members from the Faculty of Business Administration and the Faculty of Science and Technology.

The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Farheen Hassan, who expressed deep appreciation to Dr. Sanjoy Kumar Adhikary for his valuable insights and practical guidance. A token of appreciation was handed over to the speaker as a gesture of gratitude from AIUB.
