| American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) has organized an Inter Department Six-a-Side Football Tournament from July 15, 2009 to July 21, 2009 in the Banani Club Ground at Dhaka.
In total 32 teams (288 players) from different departments (both undergraduate and graduate students) and a Faculty (teacher)/ Officials team participated in the tournament. The Final match of the tournament was held on Tuesday, July 21, 2009 at 4:30 p.m. in the Banani Club ground. In the final match the BBA Boys defeated the EEE The Catalans team in the tie-breaker (4-3) and became the Champion. Waliur Rahman Md. Hafiz of the Runner-up team (EEE The Catalans) became the best player of the tournament while Sajid (EEE), Ibran (BBA) and Debnath Dhrupad (Faculty Team) were the highest scorers of the tournament scoring 6 goals each. Ibran of the Champion team was also the man of the match in the final.
Vice President of Academics Dr Tafazzal Hossain, Mr. Lutafr Rahman, Director, PR and Lt. Col. (Retd.) Golam Mawla, Director, Administration were present during the final match and gave prizes and trophies to the players after the match. |
