The AIUB Inter College Basketball Championship 2025 concluded with a grand final and prize-giving ceremony on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at the AIUB Sports Complex. The tournament, organized by the Office of Sports, AIUB, commenced on Thursday, February 16, 2025, featuring the participation of 12 esteemed educational institutions.
After an intense competition, Notre Dame College emerged as the champion, while Sunnydale School and St. Gregory’s High School and College secured the first and second runner-up positions, respectively. St. Joseph Higher Secondary School was honored with the Fair Play Award for their exemplary sportsmanship. Individual accolades, including Player of the Final, Top Scorer, Rising Player of the Tournament and Most Valuable Player, were also presented during the ceremony.
The medals and trophies were distributed by Professor Dr. Saiful Islam, Vice-Chancellor of AIUB; Professor Dr. Manzur H. Khan, Proctor of AIUB; and Professor Dr. Mohammad Faridul Alam, Director of the Graduate Program, FBA, AIUB. In his address, the Honorable Vice-Chancellor commended the participants for their dedication to sports alongside their academic commitments. He also extended his appreciation to the Office of Sports for organizing such a remarkable event and acknowledged the contributions of the Office of Student Affairs, student volunteers, and the Media for their unwavering support in making the championship a success. The program was hosted by Mr. Md. Joynal Abedin, Coordinator, Office of Sports, AIUB.
As the sun set on an electrifying tournament, the AIUB Inter College Basketball Championship 2025 ended on a high note, leaving an unforgettable legacy and fueling anticipation for an even more thrilling showdown next year.
